THE PELICAN CASE 1510
Just a quick post about a very much needed photography case. So the other day I went browsing for a new case for all of my gear. The old one I have is good, but I wanted something sturdier. Something that wouldn't break easily. A case that can withstand being thrown into the belly of many planes, being manhandled by airport personnel, and maybe even the depths of the ocean, in case the plane crashes and all the luggage has to be jettisoned to make the plane lighter.
In any case, I've put together this short video, showing — or rather attempting to show — the process of carving out the inside of the Pelican to get the most out of it. The purpose was to cram as much gear in as possible, with a minimum amount of clutter. The whole process took me about an hour, and I recorded the whole thing on my new iPhone 7, which I had neatly placed on a flimsy tripod, which ended up moving because of my wonderful cat named Dexter.
Yes. I'm aware Dexter is a strange name for a cat.
Anyway, there's a ridiculous crop at the bottom border of the video. It's pretty steep, as the whole point of the video was to show you how I did this. But, this is what I ended up with, for the better part. A video of my bald head hunched over and cutting spongy foam really-really fast, which looks kind of ridiculous and also explains the ambient Benny Hill music in the background. Well, I hope you enjoy this great video, or at the very least find the humor in it.
